Domestic Demand Slows Amid Price Fluctuations
In recent weeks, demand for steel plate in Turkey has softened due to global steel price volatility. Turkish buyers are delaying bulk purchases, adopting a wait-and-see approach as they anticipate more stable market prices.
Import Offers
- China: Hot-rolled coils (HRC) are offered at $525–540/tonne CFR.
- Russia: HRC priced at $530–550/tonne CFR.
While these prices have seen slight reductions, actual transaction volumes remain sluggish. Cold-rolled coil (CRC) prices are holding steady at $630–640/tonne CFR, with no significant change in market activity.
Domestic Market Prices
- Hot-Rolled Coil (HRC): Prices are stable at $620–640/tonne EXW.
- Cold-Rolled Coil (CRC): Prices fluctuate between $720–750/tonne EXW, with recent deals mainly at $720–740/tonne EXW.
The local market shows stability, with buyers purchasing as needed based on specific demand.
Export Market Under Pressure
In Turkey’s export market, HRC is now offered at $590–620/tonne FOB, down from last week’s $600–620/tonne FOB. However, demand remains weak globally, and buyers are hesitant, keeping transaction volumes limited. This ongoing price volatility in global steel markets is adding pressure on Turkey’s export sector.
