The European Commission has exempted a Vietnamese supplier from EU countervailing duties on stainless steel cold-rolled flat products, Kallanish reports. This exemption applies to Lam Khang Joint Stock Company, as no evidence was found that its products benefited from subsidies. Duties previously imposed on imports from Lam Khang will be refunded, with the amendment taking effect from 18 December 2024 and retroactively applicable to shipments since 8 May 2024.
Background on Duties
The EU had previously imposed countervailing duties on stainless steel cold-rolled flat products originating from Indonesia, Taiwan, Turkey, and Vietnam. While Lam Khang received an exemption, requests from Trinox Metal Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Turkey) and Yongjin Metal Technology (Vietnam) were rejected.
